Mr Peter Botten is a highly regarded resources industry executive and company director with more than 35 years of experience in the energy and resources sectors and will be joining the Boss Energy Board as Non-Executive Chair on the 30th of September 2026.

He served as Managing Director of Oil Search Limited from 1994 to 2020, leading the company through a period of substantial growth and transformation, including the successful development of the PNG LNG Project, one of the largest resource developments in the Asia-Pacific region.

Mr Botten is currently Non-Executive Chair for Conrad Asia Energy Ltd and Karoon Energy Ltd. He has previously held Chair roles for Aurelia Metals, AGL Energy and Oil Search/Santos Foundation.

He commenced his career as a Geologist in uranium, working for COGEMA (French Government Atomic Energy Agency).

Mr Botten has extensive experience in strategy, project development, operations, stakeholder engagement, government relations, mergers and acquisitions, capital allocation and corporate governance. He currently serves on a number of public and private company boards and brings significant international experience across the resources sector.
